5 FERIEGADGETS: ELEKTRONISTA PLUGGER UD OG IND I MEXICO

Strand, sol, palmer og gadgets. Elektronista slapper bedst af med lidt digital hjælp. Se videoen fra den hemmelige strand og læs hvorfor online ikke behøver at betyde stress.
Jeg har været på ferie. Det var nødvendigt, tiltrængt og måske endda fortjent. Denne vinter gik turen til Mexico. Til en strand jeg har drømt om siden jeg første gang hørte om den på en klatreferie i nordmexico. Jeg klatrede høje, varme klipper med to smukke, muskuløse mexicanske tvillinger, som ved bålet om aftenen fortalte om deres families hemmelige strand. Gemt bag en jungle, skærmet af klipper. Silkeblødt sand under vuggende palmer.
Endelig i år blev kaldet fra den mystiske strand (Puntamonterrey.com) så stærkt, at jeg bookede 18 flybilletter- (ja 3 mennesker med 3 fly hver vej- it’s alot!) og drog afsted med min familien og tasken fuld af elektronik. Jeg bliver tit spurgt om jeg aldrig har brug for at unplugge, for at trække stikket for at gå offline. Og jo det har jeg faktisk. Men samtidig har jeg den holdning, at teknologi ikke bør være en stressfaktor i sig selv. Her er en lille hilsen fra stranden, hvor jeg uddyber den tilgang og herunder kan du også læse hvilke 5 gadgets jeg især brugte på min rejse.
Til hverdag bliver min dag konstant brudt op af emails, twitter, Instagram, Facebook, sms’er, app alerts og sikkert endnu mere. Det er en del af mit arbejde og en måde jeg har valgt at leve på. Men når jeg holder fri- altså sådan rigtig fri, så er det den strøm at konstante afbrydelser som jeg sætter et filter på. Jeg fjerner notifikationer og tjekker kun mails med dages mellemrum, og selvom der godt nok var (svagt) wifi, så var den paradisiske strand (heldigvis) helt uden for mobildækning, så opkald og sms’er var ganske naturligt sorteret fra. De første par dage under palmerne gik med at tænke “nå- nu skal jeg da vist også have udrettet noget”, indtil min krop endelig forstod at det komplet modsatte faktisk var formålet med opholdet. Jeg skulle slappe af, men betød det at jeg skulle give slip på mine elskede gadgets? Nej heldigvis. For selvfølgelig findes der en mellemvej, hvor teknologien bliver menneskets hjælp til ro. Her følger en liste over 5 gadgets jeg brugte, og hvordan de hjalp mig med at holde ferie.
5 gode feriegadgets
1. Smartkamera (Samsung Galaxy Cam) – Når man som jeg deler meget indhold og samtidig gerne vil tage gode billeder, så er et smartkamera en rigtig god løsning. Galaxy Cam er slags kamera/Android tablet bastard, som fungerer rigtig godt. Jeg brugte primært de lette standardindstillinger og tog panoramabilleder, billeder af vandfald, barn i aktiv leg og solnedgange. Når jeg tog et særlig godt billede redigerede jeg det i kameraet med det samme. Jeg sørgede for med det samme at sende alle billeder videre til sikkerhed i min Dropbox og udvalgte enkelte som røg direkte via apps til Instagram og Facebook.
2. Smartphone (iPhone 5 som for nylig blev kørt over af en bil men stadig lever trods smadret glas) Jeg hverken ringede eller sms’ede. Jeg tjekkede af og til min mail, da jeg faktisk synes det er mere stressende at vende tilbage til 4000 mails end at slette undervejs. I flyveren brugte jeg meditationsapp’en Relax & Rest. Intet som ro i hjernen i 10.000 meters højde. Undervejs holdte jeg øje med vejret både ude og hjemme med Accuweather app’en. En lokal anbefalede Taco Master spillet som blev et stort hit hos min datter. Og så er smartphone kameraet jo det bedste, fordi det altid er i nærheden.
3. Tablet (iPad mini)- Jeg elsker størrelsen. Super let og bærbar og stadig fin til alt jeg bruger den til, hvilket på ferien især var Kindle app’en. Fordelen er, at man kan vente med at vælge ferielitteratur til man sidder i strandstolen og ved hvad man er i humør til. Jeg downloadede og læste alle 3 bøger i Hunger Games trilogien og lå tryllebundet med næsen i skærmen på stranden. (Læs dem for fan!). Jeg brugte også iMovie på iPad minien og optog og redigerede flere videoer undervejs.
4. Stor Tablet – Efter at vi har fået en iPad mini i huset er det primært min 5 årige datter Effie, som bruger den store tablet. Da jeg hele tiden brugte minien var en ekstra tablet nødvendig og på den her tur var den store tablet fuldstændig uundværlig med apps og film både til rejsen, og når mor og far var kedelige og drak Margaritas. Effie tog også billeder af alt fra vilde hunde til sommerfugle og Dora the Explorer sandaler (?!) og så er hun så småt begyndt at optage film. En tablet er generelt et rejsemust, hvilket man efterhånden bemærker i ethvert fly. Efter tjenester som Netflix og YouBio virker inflight entertainment bare ikke så imponerende mere. Og hvis man som jeg endte med 10 timer i et AeroMexico fly HELT uden film, så er det vist bøjet i neon. BYO!
5. Hovedtelefoner (Jabra Revo) I min verden kan man ikke tage på rejse uden minimum 2 sæt hovedtelefoner. Jeg tror vi havde 5 med. Jabra Revo blev brugt af min mand, når han løb på stranden, mig når jeg lyttede til musik mens jeg læste og min datter som vurderede, at der var bedre lyd i dem end hendes børneheadset. (En iøvrigt meget akkurat observation!).
